For more Ukrainian bands that almost everyone likes just a little bit, here's Hate Forest's "To the Thickets and Swamps". It begins the The Most Ancient Ones album in a really goofy way with bald Roman roaring some guttural gibberish along the lines of "RIIIIIIIPE SINI-SINISTER SNAAAACKS IMOSH STILL HEY (hey-hey-heyheyheyheyheyhey...)". That same line is later repeated in the middle of one of the later tracks "Darkness" so I'm sure he's actually saying something real, but because the band didn't publish their lyrics you can never be absolutely sure.

Medieval monks would doodle all kinds of crazy shit in the margins of manuscripts. Horrible monsters, butt trumpets (which apparently have some theological significance involving hell because they also appear in Hieronymous Bosch paintings), bizarre scenarios, and dicks. Lots and lots of dicks. Dicks on people, dicks on animals, dick fruit growing on trees...

Disharmonic Orchestra's "Not to Be Undimensional Conscious" is one of my all-time favorite tech death albums (the album's insane title + cover + lyrics + band photo are really part of the charm of the whole thing). Musically, they did a lot of weird things (the track "Timeframe" has a section that sounds like it came straight from some early 90's children's educational show about math or history ), but nothing more insane in "Return of the Living Beat", which is basically a straight-forward death/grind track until the middle where the song stops, you hear a voice say..."BRING THE BEAT BACK!!!!" and then, well...just have a listen for yourself.

This one might have already been mentioned, but another great example is Tiamat's "Evilized" from their debut album, "Sumerian Cry". This was when the band still played black/death metal, and thus before Johan Edlund seemingly went insane, so that makes it really weird when you listen to this track which, once again, is basically a straight ahead black/death metal song until about halfway through (at 2:34), where the band randomly jumps into a blues section (which sounds identical to one of those "Teach Yourself How to Play Guitar" play along tracks that anyone who played guitar as a child had to stomach) complete with a fucking xylophone solo. Ummmm...what?

I don't want this thread to die. :(

I've been listening to Mithras' Worlds Beyond the Veil, and on their last song "Beyond the Eyes of Man", I got to hear a line that sounded like "To the mountain! DUUUUUUUUUUUUG! DUUUUUUUUUUUUUG!"

WTF is this? https://youtu.be/vNG6kr9K1pU?t=5m47s

There was this death metal song with this really bizarre part where it sounded like right before a bass drop or something, where the music is cutting in and out faster and faster (only with death metal instruments) that made me laugh out loud, but I can't find it for the life of me. I'm pretty sure the album came out this year though.

Any power metal song with a bit where you realise 'Oh, that's not a guitar tone, that's the singer's balls shrink wrapped in spandex' (Helloween: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT'S HALLOWEEEEEEN !!!!, I'm looking at you).

Staying with the theme - there's the video to 'Unholy Warcry' by Rhapsody.

1 - There's a static dragon word-art animated across the screen at the start, making seagull noises.
2 - the singer is posing on some random bit of castle, and a little in-time lighning bolt goes off behind him. I can SEE that it's meant to be epic and all that, but it looks so damn fake. Makes me giggle every time.

Lastly, and this is only funny because the band play it straight - this chorus from Xandria; yes dear, the darkness loves your eyeliner & fishnet draped soul, it really does. Snort.

I'm in love with the darkness of the night
I'm in love with all that's out of sight
I'm in love with the magic of the new
And the darkness loves me too !

Someone commented on YouTube that the chorus of GISM's "Death Agonies and Screams" sounds like it's saying something about ice cream and now I can't unhear it. While we're talking about GISM, I think anytime Sakevi does clean vocals it sounds goofy (not that I'd have it any other way). As demonstration, around 2:18 in this song:

I have a mate who, for the last 30 years, still cracks up in fits of laughter when he hears the chorus of Manowar's 'Each Dawn I Die' from Hail To England. The part where Eric goes aaaaaa-AHHHHHHHHHH. It still gets him. Every. Single. Time.

I find nearly the entirety of Burzum's War to be completely silly. The fact that he goes from saying "This is war, huh, wow!" in a normal voice to screaming "IIIIILAAAAAAYYWWAAAAANDEEEAAADAAAHHTTHEEEWWWIIIIIITEEERRRYYGROWWWW" just emphasizes it. There's also the part between "Cries of death" and "suffering sound" where he sounds like he overdid it and started choking.

Swedish death metal band Embryo with their demo "Damnatory cacophony" always make me smile as they incorporate vocal utterances which were probably meant to sound brutal or mighty, yet they're somewhat comical:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28MxbUp58Us go to 2:26 for a good example.

Motorhead came across my playlist today, and it was Take the Blame.

This has to feature some of the worst excuses for "rhyming" Lemmy ever forced into a song. Rhyming "puke" with "book" is legendarily awful and makes it nearly impossible to enjoy the song (which is otherwise pretty good), and then rhyming "talk" and "dork."

He has to garble the words to get them to almost rhyme, and it still sounds clunky as fuck.

Obviously a lot of Kind Diamond in this thread... I love this exchange between King and Dr. Landau in "Twilight Symphony", particularly the screaming delivery of the last line. https://youtu.be/Swtum2WDrfw?t=1m52s

Dr. Landau returned and I told him the story.

"Are you mad or just insane?".

I tried anyway.

No mention of the insane Blue Oyster Cult epic "She's As Beautiful As A Foot?"

She's as beautiful as a foot
She's as beautiful as a foot
She heard somebody say, the other day

Didn't believe it when he bit into her face
Didn't believe it when he bit into her face
It tasted just like a fallen arch

She's as beautiful as a foot
She's as beautiful as a foot
She heard somebody say, the other day

Don't put your tongue on the bloody tooth mark place
Don't put your tongue on the bloody tooth mark place
Her face changing now, a guernsey cow

She's as beautiful, oh so beautiful, beautiful as a foot
She heard someone say, the other day

For me, one of the funniest things in metal I've ever heard would have to be the outro to Enslaved's "Eld". The music fades out and then you hear a voice of an old man crooning "oooooOOOOHWEEEEEEEEEEEE". Cracks me up every time. I think it starts somewhere around 6:13 mark.

Good choice ;)

From the same band :

"ma tête explose
ce sont les caaaaaaaa(...)aaalmants
ils ont forcé la dose
car ils disent que je peux devenir méchant"
Sortilège "Délire d'un Fou" (1984)

Or in Megadeth's "The Right To Go Insane" (2009)

"My head pounds, starvation’s giving me the shakes
Too much squalor, too much pressure and now I’m getting pissed"

This "now im getting pissed" part always cracks me up :D

I find the extended sample in "Goat Perversion" really interesting. There's screaming, there is a goat bray as expected, but then there's rooster and monkey noises, a crowd of people going "WOW!", and finally some tribal sounding howling. WTF is going on here?

Another Imp Naz song I'd like to point out is "Weapons to Tame a Land"; not for samples, but for this line in the lyrics:

"ARMED WITH DESERT EAGLES, WE ADVANCE!"

That looks like something written by a teenager who's played five-thousand hours of CS:GO. "YEAH! GET ONE-DEEGED, BITCH!" Like, why a Desert Eagle? Why not an assault rifle or something?

There's a "guitar duel" in "Autumn Times", an otherwise great song by Depressive Age. It sounds like angry kittens demanding food immediately. It makes me cringe and laugh, at the same time. "First Depression" is an awesomely unique "goth-thrash" album, though.

Peter sounds pretty silly in Vader's "Reborn in Flames" when he says "you think you're dead, eh? Your RONG!" Polish accent and probably Engrish getting in the way, I suppose. Lol

Vintersorg.. the song The Thesis's Seasons

I made the regrettable decision to listen to prog era Vintersorg. Half assed riffs, farting bass and the man itself always incredibly close to missing notes..

But then 2.14 happened. Every minute of suffering was worth for that two seconds, i had to pause.
