Just recently heard about this. Quite bizarre, and I too would like to know more details. It certainly sounds like a lot of mental / psychiatric conditions were at play here.

I'm just wondering how much does it have to do with the fact that Joe was running bloodshows.com for some years... Maybe it was after watching and administering so many real death stuff something clicked under the dome? Who knows... The truth is I guess forever to remain unknown.

less of what hellstorm said... more so of unstable lonely guy. most likely fixated on that woman, she didn't return his advances and well unstable man stuff happened.

Not saying that's 100% what happened but seems far more likely.

YOu definitely got the point, but watching too much of violence porn still might have something to do with how he handled the lonely unstable man stuff, especially in the unstable part.

I think when you combine that with a lonely and isolated existence, it definitely doesn't help.

I always wanted to give Goatlord a shot. Probably need to move on that before things get pricey. The crime was heinous and I feel for her surviving children. Hopefully he wrote good riffs.

Goatlord made some good stuff. Kind of like Delirium but more 1st wave black metal esque.

absolutely fucked up and my thoughts go out to her family on this. cant really have sympathy for him after pulling something like that.

I've read that graphic novel written/drawn by a high school friend of Jeffrey Dahmer about him, and the author makes it very clear that his sympathy for Dahmer ends at the point where he started committing his crimes, but also makes it very clear how important it is for the sympathy to be there, and to look out for and help these people before the crimes are committed, and that is what once again nobody did, in Joe Frankulin's case. (Going by what little we know, at least.)

I looked at photos of this guy after reading this. It seems almost inevitable that someone who looked like that and ran a website like that would do something like that eventually.
I think it would be dishonest to say that there isn't some correlation between running a gore/snuff/porn/violence or whatever website, having that obsession and eventually seeking a way out involving extreme violence.

I agree. Though I think mainly it's the other way around; that people who aren't all right in the head to begin with are more likely to be drawn to that, rather than gore/snuff turning people into murderers. But it could probably be the catalyst that pushes an unstable person over the edge.

There's a difference to my eyes between listening to metal and playing violent video games vs. running a site compiling videos of gruesome and real deaths from around the world. One is pure fantasy and the other is very real and there's a world of difference there. I'm not saying that everyone who watches such videos is going to go on a murder spree, not in the least. People are drawn to the extreme and morbid all the time (I say while posting on a metal forum...). But I can certainly see Hellstorm and other posters' points that running a site like that and watching such a huge amount of that sort of content while having trouble with mental illness can certainly exacerbate the situation or make a person lose touch with reality and I don't think its strange to wonder if it did in this case as well.

Fuck this guy and fuck Goatlord. May he be raped by Goatpenis and hellfire.

I have to whole-heartily agree with these sentiments to be honest. The degree of well-adjusted person's into the above, will definitely exist.. (gore/snuff/whatever) but similarly, plenty won't be.
