I love those intros in some songs that just starts with a BANG! You press play and BAM... the riff explodes.

What am I talking about?

Here are some examples:

Metallica (As much as I don't like the band) - No Remorse

Megadeth - Hangar 18

Evil Masquerade - Oh Harlequin

Blind Guardian - Banish From Sanctuary

Heck, even old Nightwish - The Riddler

I love those intros to songs. It doesn't take a second to pump you up. It's just BAM!!!

So, do you guys know other songs start out like that with a BANG?

We talking about fast machine gun intros, or just really heavy banging intros? Iced Earth used to have some great intros :/

The first two examples are good. The third one... not the intro I'm looking about, it's a good song nevertheless.

It's a bit of both you described. Fast machine gun with heavy banging intros that BAMS right off the bat.

I'm on my phone right now, but the first thing that came to mind was "The Barricades Are Breaking" by Deströyer 666.

This song was always one of my favorite examples of this:

Maybe not so riffy, but Sonata Arctica used to be big on starting their songs off with the force of an explosion:

Horna - Pimeys Ylla Pyhan Maan. The "Perima Vihassa Ja Verikostossa" EP version is a lot better, but this youtube version is alright:

The thread title had me thinking of actual bomb intros, similar to this

This is one of my favourites!

Asphyx open all their shows with their song "Vermin". Just right out of the gate: "Hordes of disgust!"

C'mon guys, post some actual discussion instead of just lazily tossing out a bunch of YouTube links, else this thread gets taken out behind the woodshed.

There's only so many ways one can liken something to being slapped in the face with a nuclear warhead though.

Batman is right people. I almost closed this thread when it was first made because I could see where it was going to end up. Try and limit just dumping half a dozen links with no discussion; make your choices count!

One song came to mind for me, just totally rumbles out of the gates and sounds like you are coming into it late or something, but it is totally awesome and one of my favorite Limbonic Art tunes:

1. The one song I wouldn't listen to while driving is Testament's "Sins of Omission". It either unleashes my rabid propensities somehow, or injects me with a deadly dose of false invincibility--just about the last thing you need behind the wheel.

2. Helstar's "Aieliaria and Everonn". Haunting... Those riffs...

3. Infernal Torment's "Inhaled"! Simply ferocious. Probably one of my favorite songs in the whole of death metal. Those leads and acoustic guitars are the last thing to expect after such a surge. Totally surreal, totally relevant.

4. Thought of another one. Pretty self-explanatory:

I'm assuming based on the examples given in your OP that you aren't into the more extreme side of things? If by some chance you are, you MUST hear the first track off Teitanblood's latest album, song is called "Anteinfierno". It erupts from the speakers so violently. Great way to start an album!
