Whats everyone think of Leif Edlings new band Avatarium? Its really heavy doomy/occult rock type stuff. It seems to only be out in UK/EU at the moment.

That is pretty awesome, heavy contrasting riffs and she also has an amazing voice. I'm going to have to remember to pick this album up eventually.

Just got to listening to their S/T now and the crushing guitar tone is incredible. The female vocals are nice, especially when she hits the high notes and the voice soars similar to how Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford do it... but the guitar works is the highlight here for me.

That was pretty nice. The song feels a little disjointed, but each part is great, and Jennie-Ann has a really good voice.

Looking forward? The album was released a while ago. I disliked it, seemed like a jump into the occult doom with a female singer wagon.

One of my favorite releases of 2013. I think it's even better than the last Candlemass album.

Oh, oops. Obviously I wasn't paying attention to what was written; I just scrolled down to the song.

It's one of the very few female-fronted doom band I find really great.

It's a great sounding album where every instrument shines. And that singer... she's just flat-out amazing! Just sky-rocketed near the top of female metal singers in an instant.

The riffs are fucking amazing, great melodies, everything flows smoothly.

As far as I'm concerned, it's certainly better than the last few Candlemass albums.

I like it. Pretty much every project of Edling's may as well be another era of Candlemass with a different vocalist (as was Abstrakt Algebra until they slapped the Candlemass name on it), and this is no exception. More of the same Edling riffs and a decent female vocalist. Nothing groundbreaking but worth a listen. I also like the shiny digipak I bought it in.

Cool band indeed. It kind of reminds me of Dio-era Black Sabbath.

Actually I might have to reassess this. After hearing the whole album, it seems to be pretty redundant to me, and some of the riffs are desperately stitched together. That opening track is still pretty good though.

I'm excited that people are finally getting into this. I heard it earlier this year and I thought it was a very solid record.

Come on! This was made with Messiah in mind! With Messiah this would have been spectacular! Now, meh!

Anyone else notice a Manowar reference? Actually, the whole song is a bit Into Glory Ride-y.
