http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/origin ... -in-order/

So Messiah and Manheim have started a new band called Order together with René Jansen Anders "Neddo" Odde from Cadaver.

They've only released one demo song so far which didn't really grab me that much. However, I'll give it another spin when I get home from work and can play it on a louder volume.

What do you guys think?

Nice wee logo, but it seems they forgot to add the baphomet, so I shouldn't really comment on this yet because it's unfinished work. Seriously though, the song is decent enough; Hellhammer bendy riffs and gutterals; mid paced and quite loose feeling. Not much else to mention really. I'm sure these guys will pick up a fanbase.

Sounds more death/doom to me.

Pretty much my thought. From interviews and his blog I've gotten the impression that he has the right ideas when it comes to black metal though. And considering the other people involved this could turn out really well. Basically I'm super curious what those two members of early Mayhem could contribute to black metal nowadays because being (apparently) alienated from the black metal scene since before the beginning of the second wave might lead to a unique perspective and approach.

Edit: Now I've found the song too. It does sound quite death-doomy with a touch of Autopsy, but not bad at all. Not much flesh to it though, hard to extrapolate.

Well this sounds amazing! Those riffs dude.

I wonder if the name Order is supposed to be seen as an opposite to Mayhem.

Oh. Not Messiah Marcolin, then. I thought he'd be a strange fit with black metal musicians, but then he did guest for Amon Amarth so who knows?

Not bad though I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Seemed a little too short but I'm curious to see how the other songs will be.

A much shorter, but faster, clip. Gotta say, I'm more and more looking forward to whatever they're doing.

I didn't even know that Messiah and Manheim were still alive, to be honest. This could be pretty cool, I guess.

Lame. The guys should stick to what they did best. This is doom with no atmosphere.

That's funny, because one could argue doom is defined by it's distinct mood/atmosphere.

This is no more doom than Autopsy. It's death metal with some hints of doom and black. And it's pretty neat stuff.

I have my own way of differentiating between doom/death and death/doom...and this is more death metal with doom, so definitely the latter.

I enjoyed both the track and the 50 second teaser. The 1st track won me over with the hard-hitting pounding riffs! And the vocals were pretty badass too. The teaser gives us a hint at the variety this band is probably aiming to achieve. Yeah so a rawer and doomier Autopsy-like band is in the offing! No complaints from my end.

's okay. Not great, but a few of the riffs showed promise and got to hear Manheim blasting again.

Cool stuff. Pretty rough at the moment but the basic sound is really solid, hopefully more comes of this!
