Has anyone got Summoning's Lugburz lyrics? It's my favorite Summoning album by far, can't seem to find these lyrics anywhere...

PS. that's the album, not the song...

Cheers

Man, it took me 5 seconds:
http://www.summoning.info/index.php?section=lyrics&show=title,content&filter=id_releases,1&subFilter=id_releasetypes,1

Quote:
01. Grey heavens
Lyrics lost

02. Beyond bloodred horizons
Lyrics lost

03. Flight of the Nazgul
Lyrics lost

04. Where winters forever cry
Lyrics lost

05. Through the Valley of the Frozen Kingdom
Absolutely the same words (but not in deep male voice) can be heard in The Eternal Lands of Fire

.....
damned to a ghostly substance
created by a lesser god
damned to carry this burden
forever in your sour souls
damned to dig on rotten roots
you are doomed and none shall live
the essence that keeps you alive
nothing but venom injected by wrath
.....

06. Raising with the battle-orcs
Lyrics lost

07. Master of the old lure
Lyrics lost

08. Between light and darkness
Lyrics lost

09. The eternal lands of fire
Lyrics lost

10. Dragons of Time
.....
on cold landscapes of ghostly substance
the dragon spreads its wings
the only dragon, creator of time
on paths where
once surrounded by night
throned the dragon of time now dwells
the swords dipped in blood
stone cold, washed away by time
none shall live and all shall die
immortal we stand
on the hills where the dragon flies
on the hills where dragon flies
.....

11. Moondance
Right in the dark
Flames burn the glade
You'll die, before we can try
The blood aprise, shall not worry
Your turn to pray
You must not die

In this place we're all, we'll be alone
But we pray and lord will grant us life
That's all I'll be
Break my spell

Right, but late
Called at the gates of
Place of bewitched
Don't worry now
The blood - a price
The shadows bouncing over me.

:nono:

P.S: Anyway, I remembered something about not published or lost lyrics before checking their site.

I know how to use Google search :) I was looking specifically for the 'Flight of the Nazgul' - I had no idea the lyrics were 'officially lost' though. Thanks anyway.

lyrics lost? it sounds like a joke, I cant imagine how a band can lose the lyrics of one of their albums.

Well, could happen.

By the way, I listened to (1995) Summoning - Lugburz again quite recently and it's a quite particular album. I like it because of how strange it's!

I have always considered it as a raw album, nothing original at all.

It could happen, but it is quite weird, if you lose the lyrics write them again, theoretically you should know what are you singing. :D

Actually with how reverb-drenched Summoning's vocals are I can totally see them forgetting the lyrics and not being able to recall, even using the song as reference.

"lost"... yeah, right.

sounds more like "this shit is too ridiculous, I won't dare make it public"

This thread made me dig out my copy of Lugburz last night. Not a bad album but they would go on to do better things and carve out their own style on following albums.

+1. :D

Its the same when a band dont put the lyrics in the booklet of a cd, I can only imagine two reasons:

1. The lyrics are a pice of shit.
2. They want to mantain a position of mistery and underground attitude. Meh.

Summoning don't play live, so they don't have that constant exposure to their own back catalogue keeping things fresh in the memory. They also drown the vocals in reverb so its not like they can just spin the album and have it all click back. Its also a release from 18 years ago. Chances are they hadn't even looked at the writing for it in a decade when the lyrics bit of the site was done. Pretty easy to forget things over that timeframe.

Hell, bands have managed to lose entire recordings in the past. Lyrics are nothing.

But to lose information recorded in a cd or a computer is not that difficult, if you lose it you cant "remember it", you have to play all the music again in order to have it recorded again, I dont think both things/situations can be compared.

There was a pretty funny attempt at deciphering them a while ago:

Not that that's helpful at all.

I wasn't so much talking about a computer crash or whatever, but there's several bands that have straight-up lost either the physical masters to particular albums or, in one local case that I remember, the god damn print run itself.
