Two questions regarding it:
-Did the MC version differ with the LP version? If so, what's the notable difference?
-Some tracks (not the rehearsal tracks) don't even sound that they have any vocals. Is it because of the "raw" production or what?
Any of your answer will be appreciated.

What's wrong with censoring the semi-offensive title? :-P

On a more productive note, in response to your second query, bad production can indeed be blamed. It's an extremely raw sounding demo with terrible sound quality.

Been a while since I even thought about that recording, but I seem to recall that not all the tracks featured vocals.

Is there an official LP version? I thought it wasn't released on LP until it was bootlegged after Euronymous' death and the DSP name was wrongly used on it.

The best tape rip I have heard was still very rough, and it is common to find even poorer versions online - a lot of the tapes are late generation copies, and they sound even worse. I don't recall if there has been any sort of more recent re-release that has a close-to-original quality rip.

And who was/is the "Goatlord" that wrote the text "We crush what we don't like" in the tape cover? I tried to search it, and the only things I find are these results.

If I'm not mistaken, Euronymous did vocals on this demo, and indeed it's just the bad sound that makes them very inaudible. What I find the most amazing is how the band went from this demo to De Mysteriis. Quite a leap.

To be fair, there was like an eight year gap between those two releases. I mean shit, Gwar probably played like six different genres during that time.

This. Also Hellhammer was a far better drummer than Manheim.

They started writing the material as early as 1988, maybe earlier. I guess I should have worded it differently.

It clearly took them some practice - they were sloppy on Live in Leipzig, though I think travel and drinking also affected their performance at that show.

For me PFA is terrible and unlistenable and it has been like that since those days. I also don't find much enjoyment on Deathcrush either.

About DMDS, HH was already good back in the day (when he was studying jazz) and they had Snorre to record most of the riffs, so the result was kinda expected to be solid being both great musicians.

to clear this up:

-the LP version (there are actually two or rather three if you include the picture disc) differs from the MC version in that they are all bootlegs, just like the cd version. only the DSP tapes are official. they have the same tracklisting/music on it though:

http://www.popsike.com/MAYHEM-Pure-Fuck ... 03414.html

-side "off" is a rehearsal included on PFA and has no vocals. much better sound than side "fuck", too.

I agree. I'm sick of seeing censorship like that. Here on this forum we have freedom of speech.
