Vircolac - Codex Perfida

Nice little demo. These guys play filthy, sludgy old school death metal.
With 2-3 more songs, it would have made a very good full length

Vattnet Viskar - Settler

An outstanding album, and a step up from their excellent debut. Recommended to any fans of American 'post-black' metal. The band doesn't sacrifice harshness for beauty (which detracts many from the sub-genre), and instead balances them wonderfully on this album, where each plays off the other. Touches of black metal, hardcore, post-rock and Isis like post-metal culminate wonderfully.

2015 is becoming a fucking MAGNIFICENT year for metal.

Anorexia Nervosa - The altar of holocausts.

Damn the clean vocals in French work really well, and yo think I always thought of it as a romantic language (which it is technically).

I can't get into this band, despite multiple recommendations. I want to like it, but it just doesn't click.

Gamma Ray - Rebellion in Dreamland

Doesn't get much better than this :metal:

Metallica - Fight Fire with Fire

Lyrically, musically, vocally - this is a perfect metal song. A perfect storm of everything good - I love especially how zealous and confident all these old 80s bands were, they knew they were larger than fucking life. A beautiful, brazen attitude that some bands today miss.

You will have the opportunity to enjoy this song in a concert in the following months:

Carcass+Obituary+Napalm Death+Voivod

2015/11/28 Bilbao.

:headbang: :headbang:

Venom-Long Haired Punks

Without any doubt the best song of the new album.

King Diamond - The Graveyard

Waiting, Heads On the Wall and I Am are great songs, but otherwise it's the weakest KD album. The sounds are quite dry in ...and Justice kind of way, and the storyline is too dismal. Still King is King.

Angra - Storm of Emotions

I still can't get over the fact that it is *gasp* Fabio Lione who replaced Edu. Seriously, it might be my dislike for the guy's singing, but even before the album dropped I was sure it wasn't going to sit well with me because of the singer. Still, Fabio did a good job on this song (can't say that for other songs).

Immolation - Failures For Gods

I don't understand why this is so overlooked, the production isn't bad at all, really.

Rivers of Nihil - Perpetual growth Machine
Spacey atmosphere and filled with some punishing tech death riffs throughout. I liked their debut but this one is sounding a lot more "concentrated" and "sick"

Yes, its nu metal, but its so fucking catchy!

Virgin Steele - Persephone

Energetic tune that goes into different mood sections here and there. David's over the top vocal delivery is hilarious, but he sounds a lot better here than he does on, say ''Lucifer's Hammer''. Edward's return in the songwriting department is really evident again, too. :headbang:

Nightwish – Dead to the World

Best song off CC, also probably the closest sounding to Wishmaster

Vehemence - Helping The World To See

My pick of the album is Kill For God, a nicely written song where the lyrics contrasts well with the music, a much heavy-hearted feel to it.

Sempiternal Dusk - S/T

Crushing Doom/Death metal. Very good album; despite the song lengths, it never gets boring.

Current 93 - Hitler as Kalki (SDM)

Amazing track. The vocals sound like some kind of mad revelation, and the squealing psychedelic guitar that meanders through the whole thing is just perfect.

The Ruins of Beverast - Unlock the Shrine (LP)

This is my favorite Ruins album, every song just reeks of atmosphere.
''The Clockhand's Groaning Circles'' must be my favorite song by the band

Virgin Steele - West of Summer

One of the better recent tracks of this band. I dig the mysterious and somewhat bleak vibe of it.

Sanzu - 18 Days of Rain
very heavy Gojira vibes with more straight up death metal vocals. Thanks No Clean Singing!

Grave Miasma - Odori Sepulcrorum

One of the most sinister death metal releases from the past couple of years. Many bands attempt it, but fail to create that "evil" atmosphere as convincingly as these guys

"Through the Black" by Torches in the Void
Kind of dark-sounding unblack. Mid-paced, with lots of atmospheric sections.

"Lost and Convicted" by Arch of Thorns
Arguably darker unblack. I absolutely LOVE the riff starting at 1:00. This whole song just feels kind of ominous.

It's darker-sounding than what I usually like to play these days, but I guess I'm just in a mood for it tonight.

Finally, "Groblje lažljivaca" by †

Deep Purple - Lazy

Hadn't ever quite gotten into DP the way I wanted, but this is awesome. Great, bluesy rock that pushes the envelope. The guitars are unparalleled on here.

The Meads of Asphodel - Sonderkommando

This is brilliant. The scope and execution of the music is out of this world - rubbing shoulders with orchestral arrangements (some cool cello/key passages), 70's rock anthems, and nightmarishly heavy black metal. The lead guitar is melodic and power metally. And the whole production is made perfect with added effects and ambience.

What hurts the sheer genius of this album is the concept and lyrics. It's an album about WWII, but with all the Hitler samples and furious, anthemic song a supposed to be from the perspective of the Nazis, it seems like sickfuck fascist nostalgia that can occasionally make the listening of this album nauseating.

I hope this band is not nazi-sympathetic because their music is incredible and that would be inexcusable idiocy.
