Murmuure - s/t
Weird, very cool synthesis of black metal, electronic music and quasi industrial/collage composition that reminds just as much of Black Legions stuff as it does Coil or Nurse With Wound. Really surprised this guy seemed to just disappear after this.

Same. But I has found itself on my playlist more often these days. It's the production that kills it: guitars, bass, drums, vocals and keyboards are all at max volume, fighting for space. So the actual songwriting is hidden, but once you listen past the chaos, you'll find good performances and good songwriting. The folk section are catchy as hell. Give it another try :)
Nokturnal Mortum - Perun's Celestial Silver

Maybe you're right about the production. I'll have to listen to it again and tell you.

I think NM's Weltenschauung/Mirrovozrenie pulls off their "bouncy folk" phase quite a bit better; great album on the whole.

But new NM is a different beast. And they did change, again, with (2009) Nokturnal Mortum - The Voice Of Steel. Interesting band too.

Time To Die from (2014) Electric Wizard - Time to Die.
It sounds familiar but somehow different.

Iced Earth – Travel In Stygian

Nearly 10 mins of pure awesome riffage and shrieks

Decapitated - Veins

The new album has leaked and it's okay. Some parts don't click with me but we'll see if it grows on me more.

Veins is alright. I also like Nest and especially the title track quite a bit. It is better than I expected on first blush; we'll see if it holds up.

The riffs are hit or miss with me so far. The title track has some nice moments. Not sure if I like Nest. I can't stand that excessive chugging.

Vorum - Rabid Blood

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Great death metal (and track) with a brilliant solo and epic construction, in a track that spans a little over three minutes :np:

Awesome Russian doom/gothic metal and one of the best piano intros I have listened to. Just waiting when they release the second album, its about time!

1349 - Exorcism

The new album is actually pretty good. It's a step up from the previous album.

Erimha - "Ascetic"

From their second album. Much better songwriting this time around. Love the symphonic elements on this song.

Job for a Cowboy - Imperium Wolves

JFAC have gotten more technical and precise with every album they released. I'm really looking forward for Sun Eater.

I - Between Two Worlds

Love this album. It's also not too taxing on my mind while I edit my girlfriend's latest chapter for her book.

In Flames - Rusted Nail

This album could have been decent if it was just a straight pop rock/alt rock album, but the harsher and heavier moments are just god awful. Overall it's clumsy, stunted and immature, without really any direction to it and very little in the way of enjoyment you can't find elsewhere.

I am disappointed. This is a very weak album.

Indeed, a perfectly bland record if there were ever any.

Towers of Flesh - Concealed Within

Moderately to fairly interesting death metal; in my world that's a treat.

Bloodthorn-Death to a king

Recently purchased, just the third song but I am not liking it as much as the great debut.

Decapitated - Suffer The Children (Napalm Death cover)

Hadn't heard this cover before and I really like how Decapitated manage to create a more mechanized feeling, trading the original punk-ish swing for an increased brute industrial efficiency. Put their own stamp on a classic, which I prefer in covers for a more rote rendition.

Unisonic - Your Time Has Come

Well played and written, but I didn't get in the mood to play this often and now I realize it's because this is an incredibly boring album. In a world where we have albums like Helloween's Straight Out of Hell this is pretty irrelevant and tame sounding...

Manilla Road - Spiral Castle [album]

I've been exploring post-2000 Manilla Road quite a lot recently, and I'm enjoying it. Do all of the post-2000 albums have slightly unusual production, however? It's been mildly off-putting on both this and Atlantis Rising.

Claudio Minotti's Liturgy of War - Tower of Doom

NP: Formless Terror [Sovereign Chaos Authority, 2011] - 4. Disturbing the Equilibrium (00:08/02:10) {320 kbp/s}
Pretty cool but short brutal death metal album actually. Out of Macedonia of all places.

Corpus Mortale - "Dehumanized" from A New Species of Deviant

Time to start making my way though listening to all of these new albums I just got in. This one is starting off fairly tasty. Hopefully I won't wind up with just too many of them going into the discard/trade pile.

Judas Priest- Steeler

Ever since Ultraboris pointed out how the breakdown to this sounds like a pre-cursor to Chemical Warfare, I've never been able to unhear that.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Decapitated - Instinct

Perhaps it'll require a few more listens, but the new album is pretty mediocre so far. It's catchy, but mediocre.

Severe Torture - Grave Condition

Love how this track immediately starts at full-pace. Dutch Delight.

Also, finished listening to Blood Mantra, and most likely i'll rarely -if ever- listen to it again. What a complete failure of an album. :ugh:

My favourite Cannibal Corpse era.

Np: Imperial Dekadenz - Dammerung Der Szenarien

I don't listen to this album as much as I used to but it still hasn't lost its shine.

Kaos Sacramentum - Förneka Den Fysiska Lekamen

Swedish black metal, compilation of unreleased material. A part of the songs sounds (riffwise) like Inquisition, other material sounds quite orthodox and some songs sound like 90's melodic black metal.

Paysage d'Hiver: "Macht des Schicksals" (from Das Tor)
2013 ambient black metal, very similar in vibe to Tobias Möckl's other band Darkspace. Much more "ambient" space here, courtest of the sound of wind before and between each song. In a way, this is pretty formulaic, but today at work, I'm fine with letting it blare in my ear while all the suits around me toil.

Devilment - Even Your Blood Group Rejects Me

If the whole album sounds like this, is the band 'metal enough' to be listed here? Regardless, I think I'll just wait for the 2015 Cradle of Filth album to get my next Dani fix.

I kinda like it, honestly. Gloomy and different. Should satiate most fans of Organic Hallucinosis.

Overkill - My December

Best on the rather crappy Necroshine.

Kroda - Apocalypse (Hypocrisy cover)
One of those instances where a cover song (and instrumental, at that) is miles better than the original. The flutes fit the melancholic atmosphere so much better.
