The Headless Cross and Anno Mundi remasters are out on Youtube now and they sound really good. I'm super excited to hear how Nightwing and The Law Maker sound now.

I would give anything and be on a first flight to UK if Iommi decides that he, Martin, Murray and Rondinelli should play a show or two with only Martin-era songs.

If Heaven & Hell (the band) was a thing, I see no reason why (let's say) Headless Cross shouldn't be.

I still heavily rely on my download collection, mostly compiled between 2006 and 2013. I always made an effort to find 320bps mp3s, and find they mostly hold up well to Spotify. Spotify has made some of it redundant, but I still keep it. It's just sitting on external hard drives these days. I transfer some of the stuff I listen to more regularly to my phone even though a lot of it is on Spotify. Where I am, stuff like Sad Wings of Destiny and a lot of NWOBHM isn't on Spotify. Also, mobile coverage can be pretty patchy from time to time.

I just move my collection of music between computers and still have a lot of physical CDs. But some stuff was always really hard to find and I didn't have money - a lot of it has become more available in recent years with Bandcamp and stuff, so I did get real legal copies then, but not all of it has.

do feel Headless Cross and Tyr have a lot of influence on modern power metal. Cross Purposes is simply a very good album. Forbidden will benefit from a remix and I like a lot of it. Really hope these albums coming onto streaming gives a bit of a reappraisal for the era.

Definitely excited for this, the remasters sound quite good so far. My one complaint is it doesn't look like this box set includes each album in its own casing? I can't seem to get confirmation on that. I do already have Tyr and Headless Cross on CD which I was fortunate to find good copies for on Ebay, but this could be a fun new way to experience them.

One thing this reminded me of though is, as much as I like the song, Headless Cross's title track has like three repetitions too many of each part. The music video version does a good job at trimming the fat there, because there aren't enough variations to justify the length of the unedited version.

Remix of Forbidden's 'Get A Grip' is out. Very bottom-heavy approach.
The weird 'echo' on the original mix's snare drum has been thankfully reduced, if not removed.

Pre-ordered mine, can't wait! I've been looking for affordable copies of Headless Cross and Tyr on wax for ages and only have Cross Purposes on CD, and I won't mind having Forbidden. I've been obsessed with Sabbath for most of my life and after this there'll be very little missing from my collection. Hope they do remixes/some sort of official version of Manor Tapes next because that's another gaping hole for my record wall!

Great remix. Never shared in the dramatic loathing reserved for this album.

Yeah, I'm with you on the album itself, though I'm saving the remix for when the vinyl shows up at my doorstep. Always figured it had more to do with the Ice T guest slot than people actually listening to the album- at worst it's just tired and not as good as their other stuff but it's a perfectly fine album with plenty of good moments.

There's a fair few quotes that it wasn't a happy experience recording and that it didn't come out as expected. There are a few duff songs on there but I like a lot of it: last two tracks particularly, I love them. It's a lot like Iron Maiden's Virtual XI, far from a disaster (of course not only does Blaze play a lot off that still, even Iron Maiden themselves roll out The Clansman as a fan favourite), but unarguably a bit tired and showed that a classic reunion was inevitable

Digging the new sound on Forbidden. I also never had any hangups about the record. For me Sabbath begins in 1980 and all that shit before is stoner classic rock that I don't even think about. The paranoid stuff is overplayed and there are other bands that have done fantastic covers of later tunes. I also prefer solo Ozzy. Therefore, I have gone back to Tony Martin records much more so than most Sabbath purists. The energetic vibe of hippie/stoner music is counterintuitive to what I listen to heavy metal for. That's just my little opinion.

Obviously I'd like to hear Iommi remix 'Born Again' but I'd take Dehumanizer too with some of those leftover demos finished - "Bad Blood", "Last Time".

This is officially out now and finally being able to marathon all the Martin Sabbath albums on Spotify has improved my mood dramatically. The remasters are tasteful and the remix on Forbidden makes these songs pop so much more than they did before.

Dad finally come home from getting cigarettes and I couldn’t be happier.

They are available now on Spotify to listen to. Amazing collection, I was listening to Youtube rips of the old CDs and having a remastered version of the Martin era's albums is amazing. Don't sleep on this underrated Black Sabbath era.

I have been listening to these since they got released. Eternal Idol and Dehumanizer were the last Sabbath albums I bought and I have never really listened to these beyond occasional Youtube streams.

Headless Cross - this is like a commercial blues rock album while still being Sabbath. I like it.

Tyr - their best 90's album and it reminds me of their 80's Dio albums. Probably my favorite Martin.

Cross Purposes and Forbidden - I have kind of vacillated between I would not even listen to these if they were not Sabbath to hey these are pretty good. A little 90's-ish for me but a graceful update in sound that is not out of line for what they did in the 80's.

Iommi needs to reissue those Glenn Hughes albums and Tony Martin should get the stuff he did with Rondinelli and The Cage reissued. It is a shame to let that stuff be unavailable to fans.

The Forbidden remix has made it a better record. Still languishes at the bottom of the list- but improved.

I will listen to these Martin albums 100x over any Ozzy Sabbath, including the dreadful 13.

TDYK was also pretty damn disappointing too.

Got my copy of the box set in, already listened to all of it, listening again as I type to Headless Cross. Perfect box set, could not be more pleased with it, and feels very worth the price for the vinyl version. Remasters are great and the remix of Forbidden is even better- really transforms it IMO. Worth your money for sure!
