Indeed it does! But I've grown to prefer Paegan Terrorism Tactics.

Queen - Innuendo

I always found this to be one of the songs in Queen's repertoire which gets the closest to metal (along with, say, Stone Cold Crazy and Dead on Time for example), if only in overall feeling and atmosphere. Of course, I'm not counting when that awesome flamenco section gets electrified, as that specific part almost sounds like blatant speed metal.

God, that song. There are few things more moving than hearing someone sing on what might as well be their own eulogy.

Bathory - Distinguish to Kill

Now that I've finished from the self-titled up to Twilight of the Gods, the task of making it through the wilderness of "Requiem", "Octagon" and "Destroyer of Worlds" comes along. The albums themselves aren't too bad, but they're sandwiched between significantly better things.

Death - Choke on it

I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to death-metal. I enjoy it, but I can't really invest my interest into it the way I do with other sub-genres. Leprosy is a nice album, with plenty of thrash elements to keep me interested, so hopefully it'll build up my ear for it a bit.

And to think Mercury recorded his part on just one take..... Well, you know what they say; "heroes are remembered, but legends never die". I'm pretty sure Mr. Bulsara belongs to the second group.

Messiah's Kiss - Blood of the Kings

This song grabs Manowar's Blood of the Kings by the throat, rapes it with a knife, skins it alive, dismembers it, and finally feeds it to the dogs.

The Who - My Generation

An almost 16 minute version of this song? I'm curious how this will work out. Can't say I love the stuff I've heard from this band yet but man, Roger Daltrey is an excellent singer. Guess this guy was definitely an influence on early metal singers. Guy belts very good.

Running Wild - Port Royal

God, I love this band. I think I prefer the slightly later albums where the guitar tone/production was more lethal, but how could anyone not like this? Majestic.

It just takes a couple of breaks :-D :nods:

Judas Priest - Painkiller

Remember the first time you heard Painkiller? Well, for me, it's like that every single time that awesome drum intro rolls in, followed by the hellishly sharp riffs and those piercing shrieks; unparalleled. Pretty sure it was like that when the album was released in 1990, and it certainly is still that way.

Right on. I don't think it's the best song off that album, but it's my favourite thing Priest did. Not by much though.

Same here. The Holy S Trinity (don't think I should elaborate on which albums I'm talking about) is right behind Painkiller, and in no particular order. It's too difficult for me to decide which of those records is the best one, so I just pile them all together on second place.

Antropofagus - Demise of the Carnal Principle

Guitars are blazingly fast - even for technical brutal death. Reminds me of Deivos in parts. Hour Of Penance in others. Dying Fetus in others.
