It was about $250 on sale at Michaels, with a $50 gift card that you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get.

It looks like it's actually going to work well once I figure it out. I already ruined a couple of the components by printing/placing them the wrong way, and they're expensive to replace.

It's a good deal if you're willing to learn and put in a lot of labor though. For about 50 shirts you're looking at probably $250 or more for high quality. You can buy the machine, 50 shirts for about $100, and probably sell them for $500. I think patches are a little harder to make money off of though, as cloth patches usually only go for around $1 and are almost as labor intensive.

See I want a patch that goes above the back patch in between my two circle ones, but I'm having a hard time finding a fucking badass one that fits the parameters. I of course am going to get the Black Sabbath one I found, as soon as it's in stock cuz that sound simply make my day :)

any help on how long it takes to receive patches once ordered? i'm asking about the sites which have been posted throughout this thread, like Rockabilia, Blackened Moon, Hell's Headbangers, Metalboerse, etc. I know Metalboerse was a German site, so i'd assume it would take a while to receive from them.

Are there any more links anyone recommends for high quality woven/sewn patches that are decently priced?

I'll try to take a pic of mine some time too.

I just bought Sarcofago, Demolition Hammer, Tankard, Toxik, Bulldozer, Sodom, Overkill, Toxic Holocaust, Nuclear Assault, Dark Angel patches from that seller.

The thought was to make money off of this so I didn't have to get a job with some one else, and also to proliferate my artwork. I suggest doing a bunch of side/summer work mowing lawns and doing small construction jobs to earn some start up capital.

You'd also be surprised on how much money you'd save by not buying the very thing you want to create from others. I've spent quite a bit on patches alone... but that kind of is a douchebag way of thinking about it, at least for underground metal.

Rockabilia can take a short time, or take fucking forever. I've seen them take months to ship, or even not ship at all if they're out of stock, and not notify the buyer. I wouldn't say it the norm for them, but there's a downside of buying from a bigger distributor.

Smaller distros such as Blackened Moon and Hells Headbangers usually take a week or two in the states. I've also had small labels ship to me from oversees, although it's been for either pay for an art commission or a cd trade, not something I've bought, and those usually take 2-3 weeks or so. Not a long time to wait, if you're a bit patient. If not keep shopping at Walmart....

I've come across a couple other good places to get patches recently. I'll re-find them and post here.

the slayer backpatch is from the UK the seller told me it was from and old surplus of combat records merch. The sodom patch is from a site called abyys records

http://www.officialabyssrecords.com/index.php

they have some great patches for very good prices most all are boot legs but the quality is fantastic.

Here's mine:

A few of the patches (should be obvious which) are from madpatcher. I love the backpatch, but might switch out the others eventually, I'm not sure.

I plan to fill it up a bit more and would also like some more studs.

Hey Juggernaut (or anyone to whom this may pertain)...is that metalnegro site a good one? To be honest I've never used ebay before but my questions are: what's average shipping time? good quality of the patches, etc.?

I don't know really. I just bought from there for the first time yesterday. I had to buy 10 patches though or it would have cost me an extra $40 for shipping. Judging by customer feedback, he's a good seller.

That's a badass jacket, props man. You can get a bag of like 500 studs at Crustpunks.com for about $25, and 1000 for $50 I think.

Gone one on mine, too. Page 4. Definitely a great vest, there. Considered buying that Watain page but opted for the special edition Nifelheim instead.

Patches Lined up for my upcoming vest:

Blasphemy - Black Metal Skinheads
The Templars - 1118 - 1300
Tank - Logo
Nuclear Assault - Logo
S.O.D. - Speak English or Die
Carnivore - old logo
Crumbsuckers - Mascot
Corrosion of Conformity - Logo
Venom - Shaped Logo
Repulsion - Rotting Head
Misfits - Earth AD
The Accused - Logo
Villains - Lifecode of Decadence
Terrorrama
Nihilist - Drowned

And this for the Backpatch

Obv., I'm not the most metal guy on here, but the TE backpatch was made by blue grape at least. I'm not sure how often I'm going wear this thing, but it's going to be fun to make.

I also need to take the sleeves off my jacket. Is there any specific way of doing it to prevent unraveling, etc? Or is it fine to simply rip them off?
