Thanks man. The one above MF is GG allin.

Wow, awesome kutte! I'm usually not too keen on the covered-in-patches look, put you pulled it off just fine

Thanks! I'm pretty satisfied with it myself too.

Since its embroidered it wont be hard to get one made if you cant find one.

Really like the black/white/red only color scheme, makes it look really cohesive. My only critique is that it would look a ton better on a darker jacket. You could even dye it black with the patches still on and it wouldn't effect them too much.

Pretty interesting! I think the back looks awesome I think the colour of the jacket is alright. It's always easier to judge when it's worn too, I think it will look nice with black jeans and a black hoodie or a sleeveless tshirt.

I'm a really bad female sewer. Like, I should just get a sewing machine. Some of you dudes are better at sewing than me.
This really doesn't fit anything else, and I really hate where I placed my Fallen Angel of Doom patch, so I'm just going to remove that and put it on another completely different jacket. I'm happy with the back, if anything. I really hate where I put the DI6 and the Revenge patch, and I might move those to the sleeves of my camo jacket that I'm going to be patching up soon. I was never a vesty person, but I really enjoy collecting patches, and so this is the best I've got, haha. Someone sew for me. I have a bunch of patches just laying around :(
And yes, that is a random Cthulhu patch along the bottom. I'm a nerd. B]

Damn, this vest is truly awesome even if I'm not a fan of Blasphemy at all (their patches/art are always cool). We share the same Ares Kingdom patch :headbang: There's an update coming for mine since there's still a lot of place in the front!

Yep! I already posted my vest as a tshirtslayer link so it's inside some spoilers. I'll perhaps remove that Communic patch because I don't like it there and gonna add these bands. I'll also draw/paint a Ningen-Isu logo somewhere.

Bludrayne: It's nothing much, Kreator pin and Black Sabbath's s/t pins on one side and a re-purposed earring on the other. The square pins had letters printed on them for ANGEL WITCH but it washed off.

This was the better memo from the Kreator show, by the way ;)

Yeah, I thought the repurposed earring looked interesting. Reminded me of the zipper pulls I put on my jacket.

Just had a closer look. That hangman skeleton is sick, is the one on the right the same thing or a stripper?

The same, though a stripper would be nice.
Just not on this jacket.

So I'm gonna get my grandmother to teach me to sew. Yeah, incredibly lame I know, but if I'm going to build a jacket, I'd rather go into it with as few unwanted needle piercings as possible. The wisdom imparted from someone who has sewn for decades will be much needed, I think. If it's as easy as some of you guys say it is, hopefully I'll pick it up quick enough. Looking forward to putting it all together though, should be fun. Already have a nice back patch picked out.

Not sure if I'll actually go with that or not. A little worried the nudity would make it seem a little.. try-hardy? Dunno. I just think it looks really nice and is climactic enough as a back patch. And I really like Vital Remains, so there's that too.

There's nothing lame about learning how to do something for yourself, regardless of who's showing you how to do it.

It'd only be lame if you said you were going to make your grandmother sew your patches for you.

I sew all my patches with a sewing machine. Not as kvlt and DIY I know, but it looks better and ensures they'll never get loose. Plus it's about 20x faster.

Pretty much. The whole "lame" thing was really just a silly joke on my own part. I'm actually looking forward to it. I can see how creating a jacket from scratch, piece by piece, with your own hand would feel very rewarding.

I'm actually really surprised how people can live to their 20s and later not knowing how to sew.

Well for the record the only patch on my vest I didn't sew on myself is the back patch.

I agree, it's a fundamental skill like cooking. I took a basic sewing class in 7th grade and that's all I needed to make/repair/patch simple things and extend life of my clothes.

Any of you with experience printing your own patches? If so, what method would you recommend?

Edit: I've been itching on getting a DIY patch for Dragged into Sunlight and Coffinworm.

I printed almost all of the patches on my jacket. (here it is so you dont have to scroll back)

Image
Image

I used the photo emulsion screen printing technique.

This is what youll need to start with:
http://www.amazon.com/Speedball-Diazo-P ... n+printing

Follow the directions there. You will also need:
Fabric (a lot, you will make mistakes)
a screen printing frame w/silk
screen printing ink
scraper
150 watt (I think, it says on the kit) bulb with reflector
transparencies of what you want to print, doubled up
A completely dark space (closet)

It takes a bit of effort to get started, but once you do its easy and fun. Let me know if you try it and how it goes!

I got my yellow goat back patch from Hell's Headbangers. I don't know if they still have them in stock, but they have other textile patches for Bathory in stock right now if I remember correctly.

Spend an hour searching Bathory metal band patch and you'll turn up a few things. There are more name logos than back patches out there, so there's always the option of buying a shirt, cutting it out, and reinforcing it with heavier material or Zodijackyl's starch technique.

Got a little update on my barbaric Asian bands jacket in the spoiler, with the Ningen Isu logo painted on (thinking of trying to lacquer or otherwise protect the katagana, though apparently it is already "lacquer paint" so maybe I'll be alright) and Infernal Execrator, Zygoatsis, Sabbat and another Impiety patch added. There's an Impiety pin I forgot to shove on before taking the pic, and I'm considering filling the left breast area with a Gotsu Totsu Kotsu logo.

That's a pretty rad looking jacket! I like the nice and simple look myself too, but I always have more patches that I want to put on which makes it tough to decide which ones get sewn on.
