Sadus - Swallowed In Black: any cd version of this is difficult to get (I have the 2007 displeased version and that one seems to sell for at least 25 euro's... if you can find it ofcourse...

also

the 2006 Metal Mind reissues of Gorguts - Considered Dead and Gorguts - Erosion of Sanity seem to sell for at least 30 euro's on ebay/discogs

and I noticed that the Massacre - From Beyond reissue from 2000 with blue vortex (!) artwork seems to sell for a little bit more than the latest reissue.... average of 15/20 euro's i think...

Now here's a great candidate! I will definitely look into selling this, as I don't really enjoy the album that much (especially compared to Illusions). Thanks!

An original Burzum - Burzum Lp DSP is about to finish!

The seller is Mortiis, so I guess it's an original.

Definitely wrong, why should the 2007 re-release sell far higher than the firstpress? The original edition can easily be bought for 15 Euros on Ebay and quite less elsewhere with some patience.

Just some examples:

I should kinda correct myself; with difficult to get, I mean it's not like they're being sold in massive quantities online, and if you find one, it's usually not always for a 'cheap' price

I'm actually talking about averages. I think if you put up that cd for that price (your links) then obviously they're sold within minutes, so you need to be extremely lucky (or constantly keeping an eye on ebay :crash: ) ... but if i peek on;

- ebay at the moment; not a single cd (original or reissue), quite some Lp's and casettes though
- amazon: 4 cd's from 40 dollars onwards
-discogs: 6 cd's available (of which are 3 originals starting from 40 dollars/30 euro's), and one from Displeased from 23 euro's/30 dollars, and two Cd-maximum cd's for respectively 8 and 21 euro's (but that's Russian of origin )

however... I can't predict the future and therefor i don't know whether tomorrow coincidentally ebay will be flooded with original 'Swallowed In Black' cd's

Of course 1st Presses which have been released more than 20 years ago initially are not available per click every time you might be interested in it. I'm myself looking for some releases that appear maybe once or twice per year (sometimes even less) on Ebay and in comparison to that this Sadus firstpress appears regularly multiple times a month.
I personally would not not use Discogs as reliable source for actual prices as most sellers are far away from reality, Amazon is even much worse in such cases where you can not see the prices that really have been paid. You can demand any price but what counts are the prices that are being paid and that is currently definitely less than 30 Dollars for a firstpress. Of course you need some patience, if you want to have something as soon as it pops up prices go high but from my experience you can get a huge bunch of rarities for a reasonable price, sometimes it may take you 2 years waiting :-).

I'm glad someone mentioned Discogs, not knowing what it was I checked it out and have already found half dozen rarities for much less than what I'd have to pay on ebay.

One thing to be careful of with Discogs - make sure they are selling what you think they are selling, often people have a different version but just list it anyway.

Sometimes this can be to your advantage though, like when I ordered the Authorize reissue from a few years ago for about twenty euros, and it turned out to be the original first pressing on Putrefaction Records. That's a mistake I can live with.

I've asked this before but I'll do it again. That 2006 Arsenal Of Glory reissue of the Authorize material, isn't that an unofficial reissue?

PS: Oh fuck me, people are asking 35-45€ for it?! Damn!

Looks like The Crypt going to press all their vinyl releases on CD as well, so Authorize will be available for reasonable price of 10-12 EUR :)

I paid around $500 dollars for the Razor-Armed and Dangerous ep on Ebay. Mint condition and it was money well spent. I'm old enough to have been around when it was a newer release, and I had a copy. Sold it to a record store for maybe $3 or $4 bucks in the 80s. Of course before it was worth anything. Had nightmares about it years later..haha...At the time I was wanting to here heavier stuff..like Hellhammer, Possessed..getting into some Hardcore punk. Now I've come full circle, and like some of the old speed/thrash/heavy bands the most..haha...I had to money to spend..so what the hell..

It was $350 usd a year ago now it's $250 usd
You might like to just grab this http://www.discogs.com/Misery-Evil-Reborn-1992-1995/release/6619188 from analogicorder if he has any left, I got one myself.

I am not interested in buying it.I just got a copy through a trade and a friend of mine told me that it's a quite rare item without giving me a relative value/price.
From a little research i did,i think it deserves 150-200 dollars.I saw the guy in discogs who sells it for 230 euros.I don't think he is going to sell it at this price!
Anyway,i am not much into death metal so i will probably sell or trade it.
Thanks for the info!

The "blood version" LP (brand new & unplayed as it is described) of "Remains of a dead ruined cursed soul" by Mutiilation is actually sold for € 2000 on discogs.
Mah
Mine is in the same perfect conditions, I guess I'd ponder on a 1000 € bid... I don't sell records from my collection unless I have'em double or more, but would I really be able to deny such an enormous amount of bucks for a single record? I guess any temptation will ever come through, though

Records and CDs are a funny thing, it seems you can't sell many of them for a dollar but some go for the price of a goddamn used car  Hopefully this silliness is still going on in another 30 years, then I can slowly sell off my collection and fund my retirement.

Now I know both Ebay and Discogs can have a distortion effect on rarities, but this asking price for Mayhem's Deathcrush is just out-of-this-fucking-world insane. There are two copies for sale - both on the Posercorpse label, both the limited first 12" press, and one of them seems almost reasonable compared to the other. Seriously, is it worth that much?! PLUS shipping?! for this price, I would expect that to be covered. Perhaps the decimal point is in the wrong place...

Definitely insane! SoundCave sold a mint condition copy of that Lp for 1000 euros two years ago.. i can't really believe that the price has gone so high in so little time without Mayhem disbanding or Euronymous coming back from the dead to seek vengeance aganist post-black metal..

If you look at the other items this guy is selling he must really have issues with the decimals, he is also asking $500 for a Tiamat - Astral Sleep LP or $666 for an Immortal - Pure Holocaust LP, so far away from being anywhere realistic but one shouldn't take that exceptions as reference. A good feeling is if you look at the real sales that have been made and not about the price some crazy guy is asking for

Amazon usually is a No-Go for used music, nowhere else sellers call such stupid prices
