New Wormed single dropped without warning. I hope this means a new album is coming this year sometime. Single sounds fantastic and they sound just like they did from Krighsu.

Can I drop the cliché "this band can do no wrong"?
Fucking love Wormed.

New Unto Others track. We got synth and even a goofy 1 second acoustic guitar lick. Love it.

Cadaverous Condition is coming back with a new LP in June

The release notes for the label claim that NANR marks a return to Cadaverous Condition‘s ferocious death metal roots, but the sample song is definitely in a more melancholy, doomier vein, closer to BMD-era Katatonia than anything I’d call death metal.

There is a new album coming out. From their Facebbok:

We proudly present AUTOMATON VIRTULAGUE, first track of our new album OMEGON.
Via Season of Mist:
"The brutal space invaders WORMED are poised to take another quantum leap into the world of technical death metal with their highly-anticipated fourth album. Omegon was recorded at BlackStorm Studios and mixed and mastered to perfection by Colin Marston. On lead single "Automaton Virtulague", the band transcend into a crushing and heady new dimension."

1349 just released a new single. No mention of an album coming yet, though.

I liked the song. It's nothing hugely original, and I think the band's best is behind them, but I enjoyed their last album more than I thought I would, and this is a competent song. We'll see what the next album brings.

Gates of Ishtar posted a minute long clip of new material and said on FB that something is coming… sounds like a new album…

There's a new Inherits the Void on the way, which is good news because The Impending Fall of the Stars was one of my favourite albums of 2022/23.

Here's the single - https://inheritsthevoid.bandcamp.com/al ... esteryears

Not sure if it will come out this year per se, but there's a new Worm album in the works.

Brutally Deceased announced their new album called Chasms to be released on June 18th. They are one of the better HM-2 style death metal bands in my opinion. They have some really melodic guitar work. Here is the first single.

Holy Mother - This has Mike Tirelli and Jim Harris from Jack Starr's Burning Starr. They did one great album with Jack, No Turning Back. I have not really connected with any of their other stuff yet but I am always hopeful.

Axel Rudi Pell - Those first two albums were genius but I have not really enjoyed anything after. We'll see.

I think Oranssi Pazuzu are going to be dropping a new single in a couple of days. Definitely keen for a new album by them.

My favorite ARP album is Oceans of Time. Some of the epics on lesser albums are often pretty great and worth hearing, like Game of Sins, The Masquerade Ball, Dreaming Dead, Into the Storm...

Ok, so there's a new Vredehammer dropping this Friday, apparently, and I'm losing my shit. I adore this band.
The term underrated is thrown around with abandon these days, but this is not such case.
If there is no significant drop in quality, this is AOTY contender for me, most definitely.
