Inquisition - Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan
Judas Iscariot - Heaven In Flames
Judas Iscariot - To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding

Edging closer to completing my collection of Inquisition's full lengths, I've been listening to them a ton since I saw them with Mayhem. Finally also decided to check out Judas Iscariot, To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding is a fantastic album.

Best era of the band, despite what the elitists will argue. Also check out Dethroned, Conquered And Forgotten - it's far too short but it's a total blitzkrieg,

Left: yesterday's small haul from the HMV Superstore in Toronto.

Manilla Road - Mysterium
Miseration - Your Demons - Their Angels
Mithras - On Strange Loops
Paradox - Pangea

This one's a bit special for me, to be honest. Because with HMV closing down nationwide and liquidating all its stock, and with me not sure if I'll be back downtown soon, this will probably be my final haul from the HMV Superstore that I've gone to consistently over the past 13/14 years. Things were already pretty picked over, but I still found some stuff I wanted.

Right: today's mail.

Kreator - Gods Of Violence (CD/blu-ray)
Veonity - Into The Void

Ordered Into The Void from the band, and had to import the new Kreator as well because it doesn't seem like the blu-ray edition of the bonus concert landed in Canada.

Got these few in the mail yesterday, after waiting over a month. After Midnight Live was supposed to be Voyager, but given the time it took for these to arrive, and that I had planned to buy it anyways, I let it slide.
Manilla Road - After Midnight Live (Clear vinyl)
Manilla Road - Spiral Castle (Oxblood vinyl)
Manilla Road - Mysterium (Magenta vinyl)
Traitors Gate - Devil Takes the High Road (Clear vinyl)

MammothRider: how familiar are you with Spiral Castle? Does that version have Throne of...whatever? My cd copy doesn't, and it's my favorite Road reunion album by a huge margin. Nothing else like it before or after. Without that song it's perfect.

Yea, unfortunately it does. I really don't understand why they decided to put it on the reissues, but at least it's at the end of the first side so it's easy enough to skip. It's my second favourite reunion album, the first spot belongs to Voyager.

Noooooooo! That sucks man. At least it's towards the end of the side, like you said. I just don't understand that song or how it made it's way onto the album. I know Mark still stands by it being part of the record but it sounds so horribly out of place and murders the flow.

Voyager is a KILLER. Spiral Castle is just...otherly. It actually sounds older to me, than Crystal Logic. And I love how driven the music is by the rhythm section. The bassist and drummer strike out and do their own thing so often.

It's just oddly placed on the record. If it would have been at the very end of the record, it might not have been quite as jarring. Oh well, the album is still phenomenal.

I've ordered a couple more LPs and cassettes recently as well.

LPs:
Eternal Champion - The Armor of Ire
Solstice - New Dark Age (I am extremely excited to finally own a vinyl copy of this. Apparently this is the last repress, so I couldn't pass up the chance.)
Striker - Striker

Cassettes:
Solstice - To Sol a Thane
Strange Broue - Seance (I snagged a copy of the die-hard VHS shell tape)

Perhaps their debut, but not Renegade. I honestly don't understand the hype that surrounds BG.

I just pre-ordered the new Signum Regis [Stainedclass, if you didn't already know that it's available, now you do!] and I ordered Trigger's album along with it (featuring most of the same members as SR).

Oh cool! I may just buy that! Along with that EP of course, oh man, that's good stuff. I've yet to hear their 2015 album besides a few songs, so I might get that too. They're a fantastic band for sure.

Stating something contrary to what you've said doesn't imply I've taken offence. It simply means I have a different opinion. Likewise, you're entitled to stating yours again and again.

TD, man, what's gotten up your bum? I think you're reading too much into him. Especially since there's so much more in terms of rude remarks that are thrown around here; Antioch didn't really say anything out of the ordinary. I agree with him too, even though I used to actually share your opinion.

But that's none of my business, haha. As for album purchases, I'm strongly considering snagging that Signum Regis, and when that Power Trip becomes available, I may just have to snag it too, because daaayumn

I'm hungover, so maybe that's why. I apologize if I'm way out of line, but I still don't know the counter-argument is. Would either you two care to explain?

Ah, I see. Get some sleep man! Before you end up getting into an argument over Joakim Broden's aviators... or in this case Blind Guardian's awesomeness.

But if I may speak for Antioch here, you claimed you never got the "hype" behind Blind Guardian. However, the thing is, Blind Guardian is a band that doesn't quite have just hype going for them. If I'm not mistaken, they're one of metal's crown jewels, regardless of what genre you're talking. Even their worst album is pretty good (haven't heard 'em all yet myself, but that's the consensus I believe) and their best albums are like, some of the BEST ALBUMS. I guess, the point is they're like a band that has proven themselves to be the bee's knees, rather than other famous bands that just sorta had a lot of hype but ended up sucking.

I can say this myself because I used to think Blind Guardian were overrated. That was until I actually gave them the proper shot. Now they're definitely a top 10 fave band of mine. Which is crazy to me, but true.

The new Signum Regis is really good... Some of their best stuff yet IMO! Their EP is fantastic and you should buy both immediately haha! Chapter IV: The Reckoning is good though I think I like Through The Storm and their new one a bit better. All their stuff is definitely worth owning though. :)

I'm listening to the Trigger album now and it's solid as well.
