It feels like an eternity since The Unknown was released, and I'm aware they are working/have made the new album, but c'mon I want it yesterday!
In addition to that, where are the vinyl releases for Witching Hour, and Deathship...?? I need em :nods:

You and me both! They have never disappointed and I doubt they ever will. It will have been eight long years…

Wintersun announced something is coming second week of January. My guess: a second crowdfunding campaign and the album that goes with it.

I have definitely given up on Wintersun. I don't even care anymore at this point. My love affair with him ended the first time I spun Time I after the 8 year delay. Since then, I've just giggled from the sidelines while everyone unloads on him. It's been quite entertaining.
Cheers on loving The Vision Bleak, they are one of my favorites.

French Industrial Black Metal act 'Blacklodge' teased they were in the production stages of their 5th album back in August. Hopefully we see some of that soon, as it's been over a decade since their last effort. There's been a drought of high-production Industrial Black Metal compared to years ago in my opinion.

Looking forward to the new Olhava album in 3 weeks from today. One of my favorite atmo black metal bands that really push the limit of "atmosphere" imo. It's an obvious continuation of their Ladoga album which is awesome:

Also I just noticed a new album coming in March from Dodsrit who play black metal/crust. I enjoyed their previous albums quite a bit and this new song sounds promising after 1 listen:

I just got a lot of promos, some good and some are really bad. First the bad......the new Striker is not good at all and the new Dust Bolt sees them move closer to core. Now for the killer releases in 2024.

A/Oratos, black metal from France that touches on ancient Gnosticism and spirituality. Really good album....

The new Master album, Saints Dispelled is a crusher!!

The new Morbid Saint is face melting thrash!!

Of course the new Borknagar will most likely be godly!!

Dawn's most recent post on their Instagram (from New Years Day) is about the bass being recorded for their new album. Supposedly drums are going to be finished by February. It's become a running joke at this point but maybe, MAYBE, this might actually be the year that The Fourfold Furnace is released.

Kerry King is apparently going to drop his first solo album this summer. "It’s an extension of Slayer...a follow-up to Repentless for sure."

I'm definitely curious to hear what he's come up with. I know he's not the most liked chap around here but I actually quite like Repentless, probably my favorite since Divine Intervention, well at least since God Hates Us All. Interesting that the album has been finished since June and no leaks about who else (other than Bostaph) is performing on it.

For the power/prog audience, new band by Derek Sherinian Whom Gods Destroy. He's joined by Bumblefoot on guitars, Dino Jelusic on vocals, bassist Yas Nomura and drummer Bruno Valverde.

Album Insanium comes out in March on InsideOut.

First single is out.

Spoiler: show

No new Krypts this year, next year is a real possibility though.

Rage has an album on the way. I like some of the Noise Records albums and the Lingua Mortis albums but not much since, but maybe they will make another winner.

New track by The Vision Bleak. The new record is called Weird Tales and will be released 12 April. It is going to be a one-track record, curious to check it out entirely.

New Rotting Christ in May. Not really into their choice of Thomas Cole's painting for the cover art.

I wonder if they'll continue on the trajectory of their last couple of albums. I'm in the minority where I like their later mid-paced material, but I have a suspicion they'll be switching it up on this one. I guess we'll find out soon.

Probably not a new album. It's more likely to do with something for the 30th anniversary of "Jar of Flies".

Caught on my Upcoming tab on my rym profile is a new album from Project Arcadia. It is Urban breed-less - in fact, aside from the guitarist, it's basically a new line-up. That being said, the new guy sounds pretty good, so there's that covered, plus Plamen Uzunov sounds like he hasn't slackened over the past decade. It's already got a few singles out and it's sounding rather promising.

Khold will release a new album, titled Du dømmes til død, on March 22nd. One song out at the moment:

Most certainly not "dangerous" enough for you kvlt vvankers, but I love it. Sidenote: eighth album, fifth bass player.

Ken Sorceron just announced today, on his Facebook page, that his two bands Abigail Williams and Vale of Pnath will be releasing material in 2024. I'm unfamiliar with the second band, but I've been following Abigail Williams since the band's debut, and have enjoyed everything in it's discography to a certain extent, some less and some more, so I'm interested to see where Sorceron took his band with this new release.

Do check out Vale of Pnath releases, it's kinda like a blackened tech death
