I'm buying everything online. are there even any shops that sell music anymore?

I only know one and they just have old rock lps (the most rudimentary shit ever) and pop punk cds.

nothing else.

I haven't to a music store in probably 5 years cause they all closed down.

Oh wait I take that back I forgot at in 2010 I was in Little Rock, Arkansas playing a show and I was able to go to one there with a huge used section and just tons of everything.... didn't buy a thing cause they had nothing I didn't own already and what i might have bought brand new I could buy online from the label for ten bucks cheaper than they wanted.

damn, that sucks aye, i go to my local big awesome music shop every week
they almost shut down but managed to get bought out by another company and still trade under their proper name
all their other shops here have closed though [3 others] the one in christchurch only closed because of the earthquake though
they do secondhand stuff which most others here don't, actually there were about 10 music shops in the cbd but now there are 2 :(

i've bought just over 1200 in a year :p
and that excludes a couple of bulk deals
DarthVenom's 10 year collection quest is a bit more impressive though really!

I actually whipped out the calculator yesterday, and it came up with something like 1.1 CDs per day for ten years, on average... :-P

But I think it's safe to say that music is one of my biggest passions, even though I don't actually play with any competency, so I'd consider it well worth the combined cost.

Probably the best album this year. Amazing stuff. You guys in Quebec get a 15 minute epic tribute; all I got was my name in the credits...

Anyways, as for me:

Behexen-Nightside Emanations
Down-IV Part I: The Purple EP
God Seed-I Begin
Pig Destroyer-Book Burner

i buy things and they turn out to be things i don't listen to, or i buy things i already have but maybe a different version, which leaves me with double ups
the cds i'm selling [in my 'for sale' thread] are those items, check it out if you haven't already.
but i really need to only buy things i know i'll like! :grumble: :boo:

and that would be an original or a repress or reissue? that'd be a sweet gig too, death angel are wicked.

It's the 2012 Rykodisc reissue, sounds great. I gave up trying to find a cheap 1st press at this point. But yeah, the show was crazy. They played the entire album start to finish and I moshed pretty much the entire time!

Deathspell Omega- Drought (fuck the hype, this band is still good.)
Blut Aus Nord- 777 (awesome trilogy start to finish. the artwork is great too.)
Enslaved- riititirrr (my keyboard doesn't have runes but you know what I mean. Really surprised at how good this record is, after a somewhat disappointing previous one.)
Nachtmystium- Silencing Machined (although I liked both 'black meddle' albums, I'm glad they're over. This sounds like it was recorded immediately following 'instinct.')

This is actually why I'm all OCD with my LPs... :-P No matter how well you care for the needle, the player and the record, eventual degredation is just an inevitable fact of LPs after constant play. Not to batter down the format, though.

And agreed, that Primordial album is ace. My personal favourite from them.

Agreed about that Primordial album. 'Empire Falls' is my favorite song of theirs, and hearing it live was like a religious experience for me.

yea it's neat... too bad like I said... I own most of the good shit already. So I plan on offloading it.

there is probably 4 or 5 out of that lot I might want. Others I haven't even heard or never cared for. I'll sample through and then get rid of the rest. I'll make my investment back easily... even if I just take it to the single cd store here on the coast and sell them all to him.

None of it is metal. it's mainly hardcore and screamo. That's why you have never heard of it. You probably have never heard of Magic Bullet Records.

I have some V/A VHS comp of live material that has Crestfallen on it, can't remember what they sound like, though. Assuming it's the same band since the comp has pg. 99 and Majority Rule on it.

It is a great album. I was lucky enough to find it used at FYE for $3.99.... a steal in my book!
