I have a pretty sweet Amon Amarth tatt, got a thor's hammer across my back with the logo going through it. Going to put munin and hugin on the top going up my neck. The only other band i would consider getting a tatt of is hypocrisy.

I have a mate with a Hypocrisy tatt in UV ink on his arm. it looks mad, under UV lights!

Correct, it is difficult to see the tattoo(especially if you're white) but under a UV or Black Light it glows.
For example, these glowing triforce logos are pretty commonly done in UV ink:



Back on topic, I don't have any metal band specific tattoos, but since people are posting Mjölnir I guess tattoos associated with the metal scene count. In which case, I've got the twelve armed Black Sun on my left forearm and the hendecagram on my right forearm.

I have many... no logo's or band names but lots inspired by bands artwork... few D666 inspired pieces... few of Motorheads Snaggletooth's, few of Maiden's Eddie's, Vic Rattlehead... Sodom's Knarrenheinz as a backpiece... overkill's chaly etc... most of my tat's are WW2 inspired tho...

Ah, well hopefully you guys can get the kinks worked out and get something going! I asked because people around my neck of the woods have the bars to signify that they've been on the road with a band for an extended period of time, out of their own pocket.

Thanks man! yeah I'm definitely a big fan of their early stuff, Black Shining Leather was one of the first black metal albums I got into so it's kind of a special album for me.
