The "Urfaust" was Goethe's unfinished interpretation of the medieval German Faustian tale in prose that later evolved into his masterpiece "Faust."

Urfaust started as an ambient project of Vloekwaard (IX / Willem). ''Urväterlicher Sagen'' was the only ambient release.

Although the band is from the Netherlands, the song titles are in German.
