Torture Squad took their name from the song "Death Squad" by Sacred Reich. They won the 'Metal Battle' on Wacken Open Air 2007.

In the beginning of April (2012), Vitor Rodrigues, the long-time vocalist of the band left Torture Squad to pursue new musical experiences. The band now acts as a powertrio.
