The band was originally called Stamina, but as they wanted to identify the band, the name was changed to Stam1na after "Demo 2002". They sang originally in English, but after the three first demos the language was changed to Finnish.

In the year 2002 the band changed name to Ei, then Siperia and finally changed back to Stam1na.
