Soundgarden initially called it quits in 1997 and reunited in 2010.

By many, Soundgarden are often considered the fathers of the "alternative metal" and "grunge" genres. Their hit single "Black Hole Sun" (from the 1994 album "Superunknown") earned the band worldwide popularity.
