Self Induced Pain was formed in 2001 in Ojai, California, by Eric "Snatchcutter" Gale. The band parted ways in late 2003. In 2006, S.I.P. was reborn in Austin, Texas, as a two-piece, with Snatchcutter and Vile Kyle, soon joined by original vocalist Freddie Rohr and second guitarist Jordan Powers.
