In the mid 90's R. Pylkkänen, Peppi, Ulfang and Draugluin were playing some sort of speed metal, but as the hunger for playing different music rose and more darker themes stepped in, it became obvious that the band name didn't correspond the original idea. So the band changed its name to Pilgrims from Tarterus.

The band split up in 1999 and reformed in 2001.
