There was an earlier incarnation of the band called Death Power that existed somewhere in the late 90s. Nothing was recorded under that moniker aside from an unreleased demo, on which Paul played all the guitars, drums, and vocals. Due to his commitments to Excarnated at the time, Death Power was put on hold until being reactivated in 2004, at which point the project was renamed Pervertum
