The band name is a reference to the Dr. Seuss book "There's A Wocket In My Pocket", 1974, where a "noothgrush" appears annoyingly on the main character's toothbrush.

Formed in the spring of 1994 (Cupertino / San Jose, CA) with Gary, Tom, and Chiyo. Luis Davila soon joined as a second bassist. In early 1995, Luis and Tom quit. Mr. Hate (aka Russ Kent) then joined the band.
