Their original band name during the very early days was Cadaverous Smell, then Minas Morgul. However, since they were all lovers of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", they chose the name Morgoth (after the nickname of Melkor, the renegade and evil Ainu, "the great enemy") for their band in 1987. ...
