The band was formed under the name SeƱor Mordaz (Mr. Sarcastic in English). Later they changed the to Mordaz.

With the help of Osvaldo "Petty" Guelache and Daniel Telis, the band Leviathan covered the Mordaz song "Destruyendo Agonias" on their tribute CD "Del lado del rock" in 2001.
