In 1998 Mistress was founded by Angela (vocals), Mike (guitar) and Dennis (drums). This happened after an earlier band, Asmodina, split up.
Angela and Mike were former members of Asmodina.

In September 2001 Angela left the band to join Arch Enemy. Mistress split up. Mike and Dennis went on to form Devil in the Details.
