The name Meclet comes from the Latin "miscete" that means "I mix, blent, entwine,exchange, embroil", and is a common Medieval euphemism for having sexual intercouse. It was also used during the Sabbath with the formula "Meclet! Meclet!".

Meclet's lyrics are inspired by the Parthenopean folklore and mix English language with Latin and Neapolitan dialect.
