The band was formed by Rodrigo Latorre under the name of "Maniac Brain", released a demo under that name called "Demo-Maniaco". After that, Rodrigo went to play in another band, and when he quited that band decide to reform "Maniac Brain" but with a different line-up, and then he changed the name to Maniatico.

They define their style as "Nekroskizo Metal"
