Mötley Crüe was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee. They later asked Mick Mars to provide guitars and Vince Neil to provide vocals.

The band has stated that they are currently working on their tenth album.

They are due to embark on their farewell tour, which will last until 2015, before retiring.
