Lacerated and Carbonized was originally conceived as a side project for Mourning Hall members, Jonathan Cruz (vocals), Caio Mendonça (guitars) and Doc (bass) to play death metal-oriented material which wouldn’t fit with their main band's style. The project was eventually estabilished as an full-time band.
