Originally, this band was billed as Virgin Steele, after Jack Starr and David DeFeis started going in different directions. At one point, Neil Turbin (Anthrax) was considered as a vocalist if Rhett Forrester couldn't make a certain festival in Paris.

Eventually, David DeFeis kept the Virgin Steele name.
