The band announced their closing on May 18th 2010 citing that they had achieved all they had set out to do.

In their early days, Isis were a sludge/post-hardcore band. They later moved on to a more post-rock oriented, atmospheric sound.

Isis is a female goddess in the Egyptian mythology. She was worshipped as the archetypal wife and mother, a symbol of womanhood also.
