Hirilorn supposedly ended because "Sinn and Yohann have betrayed and humiliated Hirilorn by taking part on a hard-core recording" [Source: Hirilorn/Nasav CD booklet]. Hasjarl and Shaxul teamed up in Deathspell Omega after the split of Hirilorn in 1999.

"Hirilorn" was a large beech tree used as a prison for the princess Luthien in JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion.
