Heaven and Hell consisted of past and current Black Sabbath members and was conceived in order to play classic Sabbath tracks and new selections while not infringing on the Ozzy Osbourne-fronted version of the band. While fans and critics alike have taken to referring to the band simply as "Black Sabbath," it was ultimately considered a separate project.
