Evile was originally known as Metal Militia when Matt Drake and Ben Carter began to cover early Metallica songs. They played their first live show at the Ukrainian Club in Halifax, England.

Mike Alexander died due to a pulmonary embolism in LuleƄ, Sweden on 5 October 2009, during a European tour in support of the "Infected Nations" album.

The band name is pronounced "eeh-vile".
