In late 1985 Uwe and Stripe founded the DEZTROYER-precursor in collaboration with Matthias Röseler (Asmodina) on drums and singer Ralf Couard (Asmodina , Vice, Devastate). At that time the band name was still spelled DESTROYER with a "S", in 1988 the name was changed for juridical reasons into DEZTROYER with "Z".
