The band was formed in late 1996 by John and Brett. Joel and Mark soon joined. In 1998 Nik joined the band as fulltime vocalist. He was fired in July 2002 over "creative and musical differences."

Originally from Gold Coast, Queensland, but relocated to Los Angeles, California in 2005.
