Derkéta split up after recording the 1990 EP and demo, and after an attempt to reform the band in 1997, which failed due to musical differences, Sharon Bascovsky met up with Nunslaughter drummer Jim Sadist in 1999 after which the split with Nunslaughter was recorded. Then Heather joined as a bassist.
