Chakal was formed in early 1985 in Minas Gerais by William Wiz, Destroyer, and Mark. With the addition of the aggressive voice of Sgôto marked the first time Chakal was presented live during "Metal BH II". Other bands who attended the festival included, Sagrado Inferno, Armmagedon, Sepultura, and Minotauro.
