Bruce started his solo career alongside his main gig in Iron Maiden in 1989, when Zomba Music asked him to do a track for the movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child". The song, "Bring Your Daughter...To the Slaughter" was quickly re-recorded by Iron Maiden and went on to become their only UK number 1 single to date.
