Originally started by Nordavinden in the early 1990s, the band went through a series of name changes in its formative years. Settling with "Black Chapel" in 1997, Nordavinden picked up a drummer, Rati, and they wrote the tracks that what would later become the Bloodaxe demo "In Battle."
