Formed by guitarist Jerry Watt and bassist Kit Carlson in April of 1982.

Bill Ramp stepped down as Axehammer's vocalist due to illness.

Some members formed Blind Eye between the initial break up of the band and released one demo with Art Deresh on vocals.

Axehammer has a mascot known only as The Metal Giant.
