The roots of Apnea began in the summer of 1999 when Steve Allington recruited members of a Lebanon, MO death metal band Sickened. The name was changed to Apnea, a sleeping disorder in which a person suffocates and barely breathes in their sleep. Steve got this name due to the fact that he had it at this time.
