1992 Formed by Marcus E. Norman in Umeå, Sweden under the name Pain, then Ancient. The demotape "In the Eye of the Serpent" is recorded in 1993. After the release of the demo the band changes its name into Ancient Wisdom and in December of 1993, their second demo "Through Rivers of the Eternal Blackness" is recorded.

Signs a record deal with the Italian label Avantgarde Music.
