Heaven and Hell consisted of past and current Black Sabbath members and was conceived in order to play classic Sabbath tracks and new selections while not infringing on the Ozzy Osbourne-fronted version of the band. While fans and critics alike have taken to referring to the band simply as "Black Sabbath," it was ultimately considered a seperate project.
Scott Warren was only a "semi-official" band member, and played keyboards offstage in a role similar to the one Geoff Nicholls performed for many years in Black Sabbath.
Heaven and Hell came to an end after Ronnie James Dio passed away in May 2010. The rest of the band played a final show on July 24th 2010 with Glenn Hughes and Jørn Lande as vocalists in tribute to him. |
