Additional notes
Pelican was originally formed as a side project to the "avant-grindcore" band Tusk, the members' main band at the time. In February 2005, Tusk entered the studio to begin recording 'The Resisting Dreamer', which ended up taking over 28 months to finally complete and release, during which Pelican recorded and released both "The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw" and "City of Echoes".

Pelican's first release is more doom metal-oriented, but the band is mostly known for their later material, which is more post-rock and post-hardcore influenced (from "City of Echoes" onwards).
